Electricity Cost Calculator

See what any appliance costs to run. Enter its wattage, how many hours a day you use it, and your electricity rate in cents per kWh.

How it's calculated

Energy (kWh) per day = watts × hours ÷ 1000. Multiply by your rate (cents per kWh ÷ 100) for the daily cost, then by 30 and 365 for monthly and yearly totals. The US average rate is roughly 16–17¢ per kWh.
